One of AMD'S current pleasure project is the design of a 60-foot Day Power Catamaran. The vessel's design brief is typical to the Caribbean as the owner wants as much as possible for a minimum fixed price.
The design brief requests the following key features:
Offshore (Ocean crossing) and Coastal navigation.
Must accommodate 4 persons in offshore cruising and 8 in Coastal.
 As low maintenance as possible.
Ease of sailing. (Ability to run the vessel with reduced crew (2 crews))
Watch from the inside possible.
Comfortable.
Good noise and thermal insulation, heater, head and shower, safe and convenient galley at sea, fridge.
At least 1 comfortable cabin, with 1.90 m headroom, clothe hanger and double berth (1.4 m * 1.9 m).
Should accommodate 1 or 2 couples with kids in Coastal Navigation.
Adequate powering to obtain maximum hull speed at maximum power.
High ballast ratio, low sail area / displacement ratio to have the ability to sail the vessel non heeled.
Safe at sea, seaworthy.
(This would include a combination of watertight bulkheads, reserve of Buoyancy integral to the hull, to make the vessel unsinkable)

Service restrictions are requested that the vessel be designed for the Gulf of Paria and if possible (but not absolute) the ability to go to Tobago.
