| One
of AMD'S current pleasure project is the design of a 60-foot Day Power Catamaran.
The vessel's design brief is typical to the Caribbean as the owner wants
as much as possible for a minimum fixed price. |

The
design brief requests the following key features: |

Offshore
(Ocean crossing) and Coastal navigation. |
 |
Must
accommodate 4 persons in offshore cruising and 8 in Coastal. |
 |
As
low maintenance as possible. |
 |
Ease
of sailing. (Ability to run the vessel with reduced crew (2 crews)) |
 |
Watch
from the inside possible. |
 |
Comfortable. |
 |
Good
noise and thermal insulation, heater, head and shower, safe and convenient
galley at sea, fridge. |
 |
At
least 1 comfortable cabin, with 1.90 m headroom, clothe hanger and double
berth (1.4 m * 1.9 m). |
 |
Should
accommodate 1 or 2 couples with kids in Coastal Navigation. |
 |
Adequate
powering to obtain maximum hull speed at maximum power. |
 |
High
ballast ratio, low sail area / displacement ratio to have the ability to
sail the vessel non heeled. |
 |
Safe
at sea, seaworthy.
(This would include a combination of watertight bulkheads, reserve of Buoyancy
integral to the hull, to make the vessel unsinkable) |

Service restrictions
are requested that the vessel be designed for the Gulf of Paria and if
possible (but not absolute) the ability to go to Tobago.
